My journey to provide the world with quality, homemade skincare actually started years ago when I entered my first yoga studio. The moment my feet hit the mat, my outlook on life changed. As I chased spiritual enlightenment, I became increasingly aware of the world around me and the toxins I was putting in my body. Seeing how passionate I was about this new lifestyle, my mother sent me an article about the chemicals we are putting on our skin. The world is becoming so aware of what we are putting IN our bodies, but we often forget about the things we are putting ON our bodies. That is when I discovered a whole world of natural skincare products.
Making balms, lotions and scrubs became a passion of mine. Experimenting with recipes and giving some of my concoctions away as gifts was fun and fulfilling. Naturally, when I became pregnant, I started researching all things baby care and how I can also make these at home. My daughter, Willow Nicole Kilduff, was born in August 2015 and I made everything of hers from baby wipes to soap. All made with simple, natural ingredients. With the increasing number of compliments I would get on my products, I finally had my "Aha!" moment. My passion needed to be shared with more people than just those in my inner circle. And this is when Willow Nicole Cosmetics was born.
Since my daughter was the inspiration for the business, it only made sense to experiment with willow bark as an active ingredient in many of the products. Willow bark is a known antibacterial to help clear and heal the skin. It is also excellent for inflammation and muscle pain. Willow bark contains salicin, which is similar to aspirin. Even though our products only contain a small amount of willow bark, we do offer willow bark free alternatives for any expecting mothers or those with sensitivities to aspirin.
